This was based on Anakin's appearance in the Clone Wars.

sculpted in various waxes, in 1/9 scale.

ugh. you achieve a smoothness and accuracy in this that i find impossible to achieve at such a small scale.

the wax goes a long way in getting the smooth finish and details. the best thing about wax, is you can hold the piece in your hand while working on it, and you won't smudge any of the detail or change the form of what you're working on. That makes it really easy to flip the piece all around so you can make sure the forms are smooth.

it also affords you the ability to sand the sculpture with sanding sponges..you'd be surprised how quickly you can get a smooth shape with wax!

I have a couple of wax sculpting tutorials in my journal if you want to look into it further
