I'm scrounging up old work to show, considering it's been a long time since I've posted, and I can't show the new stuff.
Here's a Ewan McGregor episode 2 Obi-Wan. It was a fun sculpt, but not a favorite of mine...in any case I hope you dig it. Who doesn't love the Mullet?!
This is 1/6 scale, about 2.5" tall. sculpted in hard wax. Produced by Sideshow Collectibles for their Clone Wars Obi-Wan doll soon to be released.
To answer your question, most of the sculptures like this take quite a while. I haven't paid enough attention to count the hours, but it's about a week of solid work to get something that feels about right, when it comes to these tiny little heads. Sometimes a likeness comes together pretty quickly, but usually I have to really wrestle with it to get it looking decent.
Ah, thanks! I really appreciate your kind words. If the care and dedication shows, that's a high compliment, and thanks for letting me know how you feel about it.
As alwaysw, very amazing with the likeness. The care and dedication you put into these is inspiring!
