This was an cool project, in that I only sculpted a small portion of it. I was commissioned to sculpt the Padme that's combating the big monster on the pillar. check out the final painted piece here: [link]
The cat monster was sculpted by the actual maquette sculptor that worked on Episode 2! say what you will about the film, but this creature sculpt was unreal. just completely awesome. I got to handle the finished cat sculpt, and it just blew my mind how great it was. so, anyway, I sculpted the little Natalie Portman. it looks like she's doing some crazy little dance up there, but the chain was added by the artists at Sideshow when they did the final prototype. she stands about 6" tall if I remember right, sculpted in wax. Produced by Sideshow Collectibles. Once again, I didn't sculpt the creature or the pillar, I just made the little Padme, and it was all put together by Sideshow later. enjoy, Trev |

"Sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." But why stop at six? What's wrong with seven, eight, or nine? Nine is a perfectly good number you know. Not only is it a multiple of three (which IS lucky), It's a magic number.

"Nobody's perfect. I'm a nobody. Therefore I'm perfect."
It was so cool getting to actually handle the sculpture of the creature in this one. I was scared to death, but actually holding the finished piece in your hands and admiring the craftsmanship is very very cool.
take care!

seems wax is a favored medium?
[yeah--that nexu was insanely cool, i can't imagine how awesome it must have been to actually hold that]

Mans inhumanity to nature makes mans inhumanity to man almost seem justified.

thanks for your kind words!

Both the Padme and the Nexu are amazing to me, but... I really got to give you props on Padme, because it's one thing to create an impressive beast creature, but it's entirely another to make a human look not just human but like the character it's supposed to be!

I am the butter on the toast of lies!
I have no idea how you manage to get such fantastic likeness on such a small scale.
You are a master of the craft!
Cheers for sharing
